Positionly Browser Extension — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
The Positionly “LinkedIn Post Score” browser extension (the “Extension”) helps you score LinkedIn posts on the eight things that decide whether a post lands. This policy explains exactly what the Extension does — and does not do — with your data.
What the Extension accesses
- It runs on linkedin.com and shows a small scoring panel.
- It processes only the post text you choose to score — text you type or paste into the panel, or a post you explicitly click “Check rank” on.
- It does not read your LinkedIn account, profile, messages, connections, or browsing history, and it does not scrape the page automatically or in bulk.
What it sends, and where
- When you score a post, that post’s text is sent to our scoring service at positionly.me to compute the score.
- To generate the score, the text is processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to return the result.
- Nothing is sent unless you click “Score my post” or “Check rank.” The Extension never sends data in the background.
Storage
- Scores are computed in real time and are not stored by default.
- If you click “Share this rank,” the post text and its score are saved on our servers to create a shareable report link (positionly.me/post-rank-checker/r/…). This only happens when you choose to.
What we do NOT do
- No login or account is required to use the Extension.
- We do not collect your name, email, LinkedIn credentials, contacts, or browsing history.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not track you across websites.
Permissions, and why
- Access to linkedin.com — to display the scoring panel and read the post text you choose to score.
- Access to positionly.me — to call the scoring API.
Your choices
- The Extension only acts when you click. Uninstall it at any time to stop all access.
- For any shared report you created, contact us and we’ll remove it.
